Pomodoro mode

Pomodoro that actually locks.

A Pomodoro timer is useless if you can still alt-tab to Twitter the moment your attention drifts. This one enforces the focus phase, holds through the break, and resumes for the next cycle.

The honest problem

Most Pomodoro extensions don't actually lock.

The original Pomodoro timer was a kitchen timer — physical, unhackable. Software timers reintroduce the problem they were meant to solve. A notification fires, you ignore it.
  • They're countdowns with notifications.
  • They don't change what the browser can do.
  • The tab switch is always one keystroke away.
During the break

Take a breath. Not a tab break.

The lock holds through the break. A 'Take a breath' screen replaces the focus countdown so you pause without slipping back into the noise. When the break ends, the focus phase resumes automatically.
  • The Hidden chip stays — no temptation to peek.
  • A pause screen, not a return to the noise.
  • Skip the break early by holding the play button.
How it behaves

Lock. Break. Re-lock.

Pomodoro mode runs configurable focus and break cycles. The lock holds through breaks — you get a pause screen, not a return to distraction. The focus phase resumes automatically.

  1. 01

    Configure cycles

Options → Pomodoro. Focus length (default 25), break (5), long break (15), cycles before long (4).

  2. 02

    Start the session

Open the sidebar, name your focus, pick Pomodoro mode. Start.

  3. 03

    Focus phase

Every non-focus tab collapses. The countdown runs. Locked like a regular session.

  4. 04

    Break phase

Focus timer ends. The lock holds — a 'Take a breath' screen replaces the countdown. Stretch, breathe, look out the window.

  5. 05

    Repeat

Break ends, the focus countdown returns and the next cycle starts. Same configuration, no friction.
