Focus mode for Chrome.
Hide every distracting tab into a single chip. Keep audio, drafts, and scroll position exactly where you left them.
Tabs are hidden, not closed.
- Audio keeps playing in the hidden group.
- Drafts, scroll, form state all preserved.
- Select multiple tabs to lock more than one.
Different from a website blocker.
A website blocker maintains a list and refuses to load. OneTabFocus locks Chrome to the tab you're on — the rest of the web is irrelevant for the duration.
Restores exactly.
- Original tab-group colors and titles intact.
- Ungrouped tabs go back to ungrouped.
- No reordering, re-pinning, or lost work.
Built for ADHD, deep work, and study sessions.
Tab-switching is a dopamine response. Locking the choice beats trying to outwill the impulse.
ADHD focus
Short Pomodoro windows are reachable. The lock is high enough friction to interrupt impulses.
Deep work
60–120 minute blocks with a bounded end. One block beats a scattered morning. See deep work mode.
Studying
Cmd-click your textbook PDF + notes tab. Everything else collapses for the session.
Things people actually ask.
Is “focus mode” the same as a website blocker?
No. Website blockers prevent navigation to URLs you've added to a list. OneTabFocus locks Chrome to the tab you're already on, so the rest of the web is irrelevant for the duration.
Does focus mode close my other tabs?
No. They're collapsed into a single Chrome tab group (“Hidden”). Audio keeps playing, drafts and scroll position are preserved.
Can I include multiple tabs in my focus group?
Yes. Cmd-click any tabs before locking; they all stay accessible.
What happens at the end of the timer?
Your original tab groups are restored exactly — same colors, same titles, same membership.
Lock the tabs. Keep the work.
